Ground-Based Equine Experiences for Growth, Healing, and Transformation
Individual Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) is a structured, experiential approach designed to help individuals grow in emotional awareness, resilience, confidence, and connection through meaningful, ground-based experiences with horses. At Soulful Strides Sanctuary, our EAL sessions are rooted in Christ-centered principles and built around our 8 core principles of healing and transformation, offering a practical and hope-filled pathway for growth and renewal.
At Soulful Strides, we do not see people as broken projects that need to be fixed. We believe that many people already carry the truth, strength, and insight they need, but life experiences such as fear, shame, grief, pain, or disconnection can make those things harder to access. Our goal is not to force change from the outside, but to create a safe, structured environment where growth, awareness, and healing can begin to unfold.
Unlike psychotherapy, EAL is a more guided and skills-based experience. Each session centers on a specific principle and combines equine-assisted activities with reflection, journaling, art, meditation, and Christ-centered learning. Rather than focusing primarily on clinical processing, this pathway helps participants build practical insight and tools they can apply to everyday life, relationships, and personal growth.
Our 8 core principles of healing and transformation include Emotional Awareness, Core Beliefs, Basic Human Needs, Body Awareness, Regulate & Ground, Mindset, Divine Identity, and Hope, Peace, and Purpose. Through these themes, participants are invited to better understand themselves, strengthen emotional regulation, challenge limiting patterns, and grow in truth, faith, and confidence.
Because we are Christ-centered, we believe God is active in the healing and growth process. We seek to create space where His Spirit can bring clarity, peace, comfort, and direction as participants engage with horses and reflect on what is being revealed. Our role is to guide the process, support safety, and trust that meaningful transformation can emerge as individuals reconnect with truth, purpose, and the wisdom God has already placed within them.
